"Hopscotch Welcome"
Pieced by Kacey Richardson, parents and teachers of Glorietta
School, Orinda Ca. Because the background was
black, the variegated thread showed up really well and added
alot of interest.

This was a very ornate quilt with a lot of applique work made
by Heather Trimlett. Instead of an old fashioned echo
around the applique, I added swirls and leaves.

This is the back of a quilt pieced by Linn Maraccini.
The back was a plain navy blue and the front was multi-colored.
To make it a little more fun I put a variegated thread in
the bobbin and the result was that the back was as interesting
as the front.

This star quilt by Debbie Goldberg had a printed landscape
panel in the center. Because of this non-traditional fabric
choice, I opted to quilt a more modern, organic style of stitching
on this top.
